About $14 million invested in modernization of Shirak airport in Armenia
YEREVAN, December 19. /ARKA/. Armenia - International Airports CJSC has invested about $14 million in the modernization of Shirak airport in Gyumri, the press service of the Armenian government said following Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to the new departure hall of the airport.
It is noted that the hall, covering an area of 1000 square meters, has two boarding gates, with the capacity to service two flights simultaneously, and is equipped with 6 border control cabins. Additionally, there is a 450-square-meter area designated for duty-free shops and cafes.
It is noted that, in parallel, repair work was carried out on 700 square meters in the old terminal of the airport, where service organizations will be located.
CJSC Armenia - International Airports is the concessionaire manager of two airports — Yerevan's Zvartnots and Gyumri's Shirak under an agreement with the Armenian government from 2001 for a period of 30 years. The company Armenia - International Airports is owned by Argentine businessman Eduardo Eurnekian, president of Corporación América.
