YEREVAN, September 12. /ARKA/. In 2024, the volume of tax revenues collected in Armenia amounted to about 2.4 trillion drams, which is 117 billion drams or 5.1% more than in the previous year, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the republic Eduard Hakobyan reported in parliament the day before.

Noting that the ratio of taxes to GDP amounted to about 23.5%, having decreased by 0.5 percentage points, he explained that this was due to a decrease in the production volumes of certain types of products, as well as the redistribution of taxes in some sectors, in particular, in the banking sector and construction.

According to Hakobyan, the situation has changed significantly: in January-August, there has been an increase in tax revenues exceeding 14%. It is ahead of economic dynamics.

Revenues to the tax service increased by 11.2%, while to the customs service they decreased by 15%, which, according to Eduard Hakobyan, is due to imports. As for the tax service, according to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, revenues even outpaced economic dynamics.

It is noted that about 30-40 billion drams of additional shadow income is brought out of the shadows every year, and this trend will continue in 2024.

According to the State Revenue Committee, the 1,000 largest taxpayers of Armenia transferred over 986 billion drams in taxes and customs payments to the state budget of the republic in the first half of 2025, compared to over 900.4 billion drams in January-June 2024. ($1 - 382.75 drams)
