Air ticket prices in Armenia drop by 16 percent- minister says

Air ticket prices in April 2015 decreased by almost 16% when compared to December 2014, economy minister Karen Chshmarityan told the National Assembly on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, June 16. / ARKA /. Air ticket prices in April 2015 decreased by almost 16% when compared to December 2014, economy minister Karen Chshmarityan told the National Assembly on Tuesday.
He said although the frequency of air traffic in late April 2015 was 13 percent down from the same time span in 2014, passenger traffic was higher by 6%.
'As for air ticket prices, they dropped by 14%, and if we compare prices in April 2015 with December 2015 prices, the drop was 15.9%," said Chshmarityan.
According to him, flights to and from Armenia are operated now by 24 air companies, of which eight are Russian companies.
He said also Polish air company LOT suspended flights to Armenia for a period of 6 months, but will resume them from January 2016.-0-
