Ameriabank said it has developed a vPOS / virtual POS software tool, first in Armenia, for the introduction of Internet acquiring by using VISA cards.
YEREVAN, November 20. / ARKA /. Ameriabank said it has developed a vPOS / virtual POS software tool, first in Armenia, for the introduction of Internet acquiring by using VISA cards.
This tool provides a unique opportunity for retail outlets to accept Visa, MasterCard and ArCA cards for Internet-based payments and avoid additional and time-consuming programming and commissioning.
The bank said a study made by a group of Ameria experts shows that e-commerce is growing quite actively in the country.
It said 4.4 billion drams worth e-commerce was made in 2012 by using locally and internationally issued banking cards. The annual average growth over the last 2-3 years was 40%-45 %, however, the numbers are still lower than in other countries in the region.
