YEREVAN, July 28. /ARКА/. Another 5 Armenian flower companies have received permission to export their products to Russia, according to the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, based on the results of online inspection activities conducted jointly with Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor.

In general, the inspection noted, the export of flowers from Armenia to Russia has already been permitted for 14 companies engaged in growing flowers.

Recently, Rosselkhoznadzor limited the import of flowers from Armenia, stating the increasing number of cases of quarantine diseases and pests being detected in them. This has caused discontent among Armenian flower growers, who held protests demanding a solution to the problem.

There were also rumors about the restriction of flower exports to Russia also because the flowers are allegedly not grown in Armenia, but imported from third countries and re-exported to the Russian Federation. The Armenian Ministry of Economy officially denied these rumors.-0-
