YEREVAN, August 28. /ARКА/. At a meeting on Thursday, the government approved a proposal to sign an agreement between the governments of Armenia and China on international road transportation of passengers and goods.

The agreement will regulate the process of regular passenger and cargo transportation by road between Armenia and China, taking into account that this area is currently not regulated, which hinders the development of economic cooperation.

The provisions of the document comply with the requirements established by international agreements on road transportation, as well as the legislation of the contracting parties.

The agreement will help stimulate mutually beneficial economic and business ties between the two countries, develop interstate road transportation and expand cooperation within the framework of international transport corridors.

According to Armstat, in the first half of 2025, the Armenian-Chinese trade turnover amounted to $1.2 billion, with a decline of 15% compared to the same period in 2024.
