Armenia and Switzerland discuss expanding economic cooperation and GSP regime

On Wednesday, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and the new Swiss Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Barbara Baumann, discussed expanding economic cooperation and the application of the preferential trade regime (GSP).
YEREVAN, December 18. /ARKA/. On Wednesday, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and the new Swiss Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Barbara Baumann, discussed expanding economic cooperation and the application of the preferential trade regime (GSP).
This regime has significantly contributed to increasing the competitiveness of Armenian products and developing bilateral trade, the RA Ministry of Economy press service reported following the meeting.
The parties also discussed expanding cooperation in investment, agriculture, and livestock farming.
The minister also emphasized the importance of the declaration signed on August 8 in Washington, the Crossroads of Peace initiative, and the TRIPP (Trump Route Initiative), noting that these programs contribute to regional stability and deepen economic ties. According to Armstat, the volume of trade turnover between Armenia and Switzerland for January-October 2025 amounted to almost $152.15 million (an increase of 7.3%), including exports - almost $120.4 million (an increase of 28%). -0-
