YEREVAN, November 13. /ARКА/. Armenia could act as a connector between India's vibrant economy and Europe's sophisticated markets, positioning itself as an ideal hub for trade, manufacturing, and technological collaboration, remarked RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

"The geographical position of Armenia enables it to function as an economic, cultural, and logistical bridge between Europe and Asia," he stated during the ministerial plenary session at the India-Europe Conference on Business and Sustainable Development.

The minister highlighted Armenia's investment climate and key projects, including the Dry Port in Gyumri.

Dry Port in Gyumri

The Armenian government intends to allocate $37 million for this project. As per the plan, the dry port will be located next to Shirak International Airport, the railway, and the North-South transport corridor.

It will feature an airport designated as a free economic zone, distribution centers (hubs), small and medium-sized enterprises, light industrial facilities, production units, production lines, and an international food market.

The vision includes transforming the Shirak region into an industrial zone, with the dry port evolving into a multifunctional and multimodal hub that caters to regional and international companies needing streamlined customs processes.-0-
