YEREVAN, February 27. /АРКА/. Armenia intends to harmonize national laws in the sphere of consumer protection and advertising in accordance with the legislation of the European Union, said Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan.

According to him, the corresponding changes are provided by the draft amendments to the laws "On consumer protection" and "On advertising", presented in the first reading at the meeting of the parliamentary commission on economic issues.

"In the spheres of consumer rights protection and advertising, we will have the same protection as in the European Union, but this will require efforts and certain changes in approach, including from the side of economic entities," Papoyan noted at the commission meeting.

According to the minister, the changes concern the regulation of unfair conditions in contracts with consumers, protection of rights when concluding contracts remotely or outside the trading premises, requirements for advertising, including unfair and misleading, as well as legal protection mechanisms in case of non-compliance of goods with established requirements.
