YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved a decision on Thursday to apply a tariff quota to certain goods of Iranian origin imported into Armenia from Iran through 2026.

The quota specifically applies to poultry (1,000 tons), potatoes (53 tons), tomatoes (364 tons), cucumbers (1,791 tons), apples (308 tons), and other agricultural products.

According to the decision, a zero customs duty rate will be applied to these goods imported within the established quota.

The decision was based on a decision by the Eurasian Economic Commission aimed at ensuring the implementation of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran in 2026.

According to Armstat, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with Iran in January-February 2026 amounted to $104.8 million, a 6% increase compared to January-February 2025. Exports amounted to $9.5 million (a 33% decline), while imports amounted to $97.3 million (an increase of 13.8%).
