Armenia institutionalized defense industry

YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved two new regulations: "On conducting state tests of military products, their parts, components, prototypes and results of special research and development work in the Republic of Armenia" and "On forming, financing and implementing applications for special research and development work (R&D) for military needs".

As reported by "Armenpress", commenting on the government's decisions, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan noted that these regulations not only strengthen the foundations of two very important processes - conducting state tests and financing R&D, clarify the functions of the responsible bodies of the public administration system and the timing of the processes, but also have a cultural significance.

"For the first time, the mechanism of technology readiness levels (TRL) is being introduced into the process of creating new defense products through the R&D procedure. The financing of the creation of new products and the processes of managing the results will develop in accordance with the logic of increasing levels of technological readiness. All functions and expenses for the provision of the necessary property for testing new military products by government departments become predictable and calculable, laying the foundation for the creation of a flexible and fast institute of state testing," the minister emphasized.
