YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. The Armenian government is currently developing programs to support domestic cognac producers, which should ensure uninterrupted purchases of grapes in September-October of this year, said the Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
“In the logic of export-purchase, we will support the organizations involved in this process, but with the condition of organizing the process of uninterrupted and proper quality purchase of grapes. This will help solve the problems,” he said, announcing that a meeting with cognac producers is planned for the coming days.
Answering a question about the problem with the export of cognac spirit, the minister said that Armenia is in the stage of very active discussions with Georgia, but at the same time stated that the situation is developing in such a way that his possible visit to Georgia will not affect it in any way
Spontaneous laboratory checks of dozens of trucks from Armenia exporting alcoholic products to Russia or the Baltic countries through the Upper Lars checkpoint have been reported for about 1.5 months. Due to delays in inspection, Armenian exporters suffer financial losses.
