YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to organize the import of various goods from Russia via Azerbaijan, announced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Yesterday evening, a train carrying 15 Russian grain trucks arrived at the Armenian Ayrum railway station, traveling through Azerbaijan and Georgia. This is the first such route since the early 1990s.

Pashinyan noted that "the situation is developing unexpectedly and dynamically, with changes occurring daily."

He added: "Initially, it was assumed that the first train (carrying cargo for Armenia via Azerbaijan – editor's note) would arrive from Kazakhstan, but it subsequently became clear that Azerbaijan is also providing this opportunity to trains from Russia. The train from Kazakhstan has not yet arrived.

He also reported that applications for the import of various goods from Russia to Armenia are currently being processed.

"We will also need to clarify (regarding deliveries) in the opposite direction – the public will be informed about how cargo will be transported through Georgia, Azerbaijan, and to Russia, Kazakhstan, and other countries," Pashinyan assured.

He also stated that Armenia is ready to allow the movement of Turkish and Azerbaijani trucks along the Margara-Kornidzor route and back to Turkey and Azerbaijan, starting today.

On October 21, President of Azerbaijan lifted all restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. Yerevan welcomed the Azerbaijani leader's statement, emphasizing its importance for opening regional communications, strengthening mutual trust, and institutionalizing the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.-0--
