YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. The average monthly salary in September 2024 was 279,279 drams, marking a 6.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, "Armenia: Economic Prospects. January-September 2024’’.

In particular, in the public sector, the average salary in September 2024 was 218,809 drams, showing a 7.2% increase, while in the private sector, it was 303,015 drams (a 6.5% increase).

Top 3 highest-paying industries in September 2024:

• Information and communication: 835,840 AMD

• Financial and insurance activities: 809,417 AMD

• Mining and quarrying: 478,763 AMD

The study notes that, compared to September 2023, average wages increased in all employment sectors, except for information and communication, construction, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply.

The highest growth was recorded in the following sectors: financial and insurance activities (up by 40.4%), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (up by 13.5%), and manufacturing (up by 13.1%). ($1 = 389.45 drams) -0-
