Armenia's GDP grew by 6.2% in the third quarter, reaching 3.07 trillion drams – official statistics
YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. Preliminary data indicates that Armenia's GDP for the third quarter of 2025 experienced a 6.2% increase in comparison to the same quarter in 2024, as reported by the Statistical Committee.
In nominal terms, the GDP of Armenia at current prices for the reporting period reached 3,071,652.6 million drams. The per capita GDP at market prices was recorded at 994,867 drams, equivalent to 2,595 dollars and 2,221 euros.
The report highlights that the most significant growth rates in the past quarter, relative to the same quarter in 2024, were observed in construction (24.6%), the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air quality (21.7%), and administration and related activities (18.4%).
Additionally, double-digit growth rates were noted in two sectors: information and communications (17.6%) and finance and insurance (10.5%). Other sectors that demonstrated growth compared to the third quarter of the previous year include transportation and warehousing (7.6%), water supply and sanitation, waste management and recycling (6.4%), real estate activities (5.6%), professional, scientific, and technical activities (5.5%), agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (3.7%), manufacturing (1.9%), accommodation and catering services, and healthcare and social services (1.8% each), wholesale and retail trade, and automobile and motorcycle repair (1.5%), public administration and protection, and mandatory social security (1.3%), as well as culture, entertainment, and recreation (0.1%). Growth in other service sectors was recorded at 11.1%.
Conversely, a decline was noted in education (3.3%), mining and open-pit mine operation (3%), and households acting as employers (1.3%).
The budget for Armenia in 2025 anticipates economic growth of 5.1%, with inflation expected to be 3% (±1%). Preliminary statistics reveal that Armenia's economic activity increased by 7.6% in the first three quarters of 2025 compared to the period of January to September 2024.
Inflation for October was reported at 3.7% year-on-year. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the third quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth is projected to be between 5.8% and 5.7% by the end of 2025, and between 5.7% and 6.2% in 2026.-0-
