YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. At an extraordinary meeting on Friday, Armenia's Parliamentary Commission on Regional and Eurasian Integration approved the ratification of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EAEU and its Member States and the UAE, as well as the Interim Trade Agreement between the EAEU and its Member States and Mongolia.

RA Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Hovakimyan stated that the agreement between the EAEU and the UAE, signed in 2025, is aimed at liberalizing and simplifying trade in goods, developing economic cooperation, and expanding mutual trade.

"As a result of the agreement, EAEU member states receive preferential terms of access to approximately 86% of their product range, while the coverage of EAEU exports to the UAE is 98%. "An integral part of the agreement is the list of goods for which the parties are willing to provide tariff preferences," noted Hovakimyan.

He reported that preferential import treatment will be established for 217 of the 270 goods exported from Armenia to the UAE after the agreement comes into force. According to him, the list of agricultural products includes fresh fruits (including strawberries), tomatoes, fruit juices, honey, jams, sweetened mineral water, live plants, apples, and apricots. The estimated UAE market for these goods is approximately $550 million.

"The industrial products include items such as aluminum sheets and alloys, medical devices, and electronic and broadcasting equipment. Customs duties will not be paid on these products when exported from Armenia," Hovakimyan said.
Speaking about the interim trade agreement between the EAEU, its member states, and Mongolia, Ovakimyan noted that it is aimed at simplifying and stimulating mutual trade.

"The agreement was signed in 2025 and regulates a wide range of economic cooperation issues, including customs regulations and sanitary and phytosanitary measures," he added.
