Armenia's trade turnover with CIS countries amounted to $4 billion in the first half of the year, showing a decline – Mher Grigoryan

In the first half of this year, trade turnover between Armenia and the CIS countries amounted to approximately $4 billion, a slight decline compared to the same period last year, said Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, speaking remotely at a regular meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government.

YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. In the first half of this year, trade turnover between Armenia and the CIS countries amounted to approximately $4 billion, a slight decline compared to the same period last year, said Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, speaking remotely at a regular meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, Grigoryan emphasized the need and importance of the timely adoption of an action plan aimed at strengthening cooperation, modernizing economies, and introducing innovation.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed Armenia's readiness to further strengthen the constructive partnership within the CIS in order to implement promising and mutually beneficial projects.
According to Armstat, foreign trade turnover with CIS countries in the first half of this year amounted to $3.6 billion, a 53% decrease compared to January-June last year. Exports during the reporting period totaled $1.5 billion, a 4.8% decline, while imports totaled $2.3 billion (across exporting countries), a 64.2% decrease.
