Armenia aims to strengthen relations with USA in implementation of infrastructure projects

YEREVAN, February 3. /ARKA/. Armenia aims to strengthen and deepen cooperation with the United States of America in implementation of various infrastructure improvement programs, Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan said at a meeting with US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy on February 2.
“In 2021, we plan to complete the administrative-territorial reforms in Armenia. The USAID has contributed greatly to their implementation. I hope that the year will be effective in terms of solving the tasks set for the ministry," Papikyan was quoted as saying by his ministry's press office.
He said the Armenian government has to resolve social and humanitarian problems that resulted from last year's challenges and hopes for consistent cooperation with the United States in this context.
The minister said that despite the large number of people left homeless as a result of the war, Armenia is committed to achieving economic stability in 2021.
In her turn, Ambassador Tracy reconfirmed the readiness of the United States of America for mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia. According to her, 2020 was a difficult year for Armenia, which was caused not only by the coronavirus pandemic, but also by the war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
Tracy expressed hope that the implementation of the government's anti-crisis programs will have a positive impact on the Armenian-American partnership. --0--
