YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/. A meeting of Armenian-German intergovernmental commission for financial-technical cooperation discussed today ways to expand cooperation in several sectors of economy, the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported.

"Possibilities of long-term sustainable economic development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in such areas as agriculture, ecology and energy, professional education, high technologies, SME support, tourism and other fields were discussed,' the ministry said.

The event was attended by deputy ministers of Economy, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Education, Science, Culture and Sports, High Tech Industry, Environment as well as representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and KfW Development Bank.

According to the official statistics, Germany is Armenia's largest trade partner in the European Union. The Armenian-German trade soared by 58.4% in the first 8 months of 2022 to over $284.5mln.
