Armenia and Iraq discuss expansion of cooperation in agricultural sector

YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. An Armenian delegation led by Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan met with Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Abbas Al-Maliki in Baghdad the previous day, the Economy Ministry reported.
It said both ministers agreed d that there is a great potential for enhancing the Armenian-Iraqi trade-economic relations. They discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in agriculture, mentioning separately the instruments of state support used in the agro-industrial sectors of both countries.
The Iraqi minister proposed to consider the possibility of participation of Armenian companies in international exhibitions and fairs in Iraq to increase the recognition of Armenian agricultural products in the local market. An agreement was reached on exchange of information on the programs operating in the agricultural industry.
Earlier the same day, President of Iraq Abdul Latif Rashid received Kerobyan. The two sides discussed possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation in such spheres as agriculture, light industry, food industry and infrastructure. --0--
