Armenia and Japan will sign an investment agreement, Japanese ambassador to Armenia Eiji Taguchi told a news conference today.
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. Armenia and Japan will sign an investment agreement, Japanese ambassador to Armenia Eiji Taguchi told a news conference today. "Very soon, possibly later this week, the governments of Armenia and Japan will sign an agreement, which is expected to stimulate the growth of mutual investments," he said.
The ambassador noted that this agreement will not focus on any particular branch of the economy, mostly referring to the opportunities and responsibilities of the parties. At the same time, the ambassador pointed to a number of areas that Japanese investors might be interested in.
“They are the IT, tourism and agriculture. Armenian wines, honey and dried fruits are well known in Japan," the ambassador said. In this regard, the diplomat explained that a number of Armenian companies will participate in the annual Food Expo in Japan, which will allow them to attract the attention of Japanese investors. Regarding the IT industry, the ambassador noted that work is being done in this direction.
"A large delegation from our country visited Armenia in September, and very important discussions were held here. Through various discussions and studies we are trying to understand the possibilities of interaction between our countries in the high technologies industry," Taguchi said. -0-
