YEREVAN, November 23. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received November 22 a Russian delegation led by Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov who has arrived in Armenia to attend the 4th Antikontrafakt -2016 international conference.

Co-hosted by the Government of Armenia, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the forum focuses on the protection of intellectual property rights, and countering the illicit traffic of industrial production in the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Prime Minister was quoted by the government press office as saying that the international conference is an important and necessary platform for dialogue between the EEU-member states aimed at establishing clear rules for business, and boost cooperation between authorities, businesses and academic circles.

This year the forum brings together Eurasian Economic Union member states’ representatives from large number of companies that are interested in having competitive and high-quality production.

The two men were said to have discussed a set of issues related to the expansion of trade ties between the two countries. The Prime Minister said that there is great potential for the development of Armenian-Russian allied relations, and all the platforms and capabilities should be used to tap this potential.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the supply of agricultural machinery, mining industry, tourism and other sectors. Both sides highlighted the steps aimed at activating the business environment and strengthening cooperation within the framework of free economic zones. 

In this context, Karen Karapetyan gave details of his government’s planned activities to create investment funds in order to encourage businesses. The Prime Minister instructed the Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investment to actively work with Russian partners on issues and projects of mutual interest. -0-
