Armenia imports about 1.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in nine months

In the first nine months of 2014 Armenia imported 1.784.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and mixtures from Russia and Iran worth $364.6 million, 13.4% less than in the same period of last year (1.716 billion cubic meters), according to Armenian Customs Service.

YEREVAN, November 26. / ARKA /. In the first nine months of 2014 Armenia imported 1.784.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and mixtures from Russia and Iran worth $364.6 million, 13.4% less than in the same period of last year (1.716 billion cubic meters), according to Armenian Customs Service.
According to official data, imports of Russian natural gas amounted to 1.493.2 billion cubic meters (an increase of 6.7% year-on-year) with customs value of $309.6 million. (a decline of 14.9%), while imports from Iran fell by 8 percent to 291.4 million cubic meters with the customs value of $55 million (a decline of 4.3%).
Gazprom -Armenia, 100% owned by Russian Gazprom, deals with gas supplies to Armenia. The company is also engaged in transportation, storage, distribution and sale of natural gas, reconstruction and expansion of the gas transmission system and underground gas storage facilities.
The Iran-Armenia gas pipeline was commissioned in 2007. Armenia ships 3 KW/h electricity to Iran in return for one cubic meter of natural gas.-0-
