YEREVAN, Sept. 7. /ARKA/. Armenia is very much interested in resumption of transport communication with Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, speaking at a plenary session of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum in Russian Vladivostok.

"The idea behind this project is that Armenia will get transport routes through Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan through Armenia. In a global sense, this is an opportunity to open new international trade routes. I must say that we are very much interested in this and we hope that this issue will be resolved in the near future with Russia's support," Pashinyan said.

He noted that there is already some progress in the work of the trilateral Armenian-Azerbaijani-Russian commission, created to handle this issuet.

"We need to solve the legal issues. The issue n general is clear: the roads to be reopened must operate under the full sovereignty of the countries through which they pass. And we hope that based on this principle, we will be able to realize this project, which, by the way, we call "Armenian Crossroads"," the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan expressed hope that roads will run through Armenian territory, linking the South to the North and the West to the East.

"I think this project is very important not only for the countries of the region, but also for Russia, African countries and, in general, for the countries of the East," he said. He noted that talks are also being held with Turkey in this context. -0-
