YEREVAN, June 14. /ARKA/. Armenia is a very convenient country for investments, the president of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan said today at an Armenian-Tajik business forum in Yerevan. He said all European standards are effective in Armenia, the legislation is very liberal, and the government takes control and promotes large-scale investment projects.
In his words, geography is not an obstacle to active cooperation between the countries, since the existing transport and logistics corridors allow free export of cargo from Tajikistan to Armenia and back.
Ghazaryan said there are excellent interstate relations between the two countries, and there are common ethno-cultural values that were built over the centuries, strengthened in the Soviet era and became a necessity in the years of independence.
"We have common interests in the region and in the economy," Ghazaryan said.
A delegation of 29 businessmen have arrived from Tajikistan to participate in the forum, which has attracted 130 local business people. The purpose of the forum is to study the investment climate and legislation of both countries, as well as to help establish closer trade ties. -0-
