Armenia has blocked its chances of signing an agreement about deep free trade with the EU when it decided to access the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, said foreign minister of EU-chairing Lithuania Linas Linkyavichus.

YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. Armenia has blocked its chances of signing an agreement about deep free trade with the EU when it decided to access the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, said foreign minister of EU-chairing Lithuania Linas Linkyavichus.
After the negotiations between Armenia’s and Russia’s presidents Tuesday, a statement was made saying Armenia intends to enter the Customs Union and later participate in formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The EU respects decision announced by Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow, but the two systems are incompatible, Linas Linkevicius said as quoted by France Press.
"We respect any choice of countries but they cannot enter both organisations at the same time because of different tariff requirements," he said. –0—
