Armenia remains within high economic growth range

Armenia's economic activity index rose 7.6% in August 2019, compared with the same month a year earlier, and this means that Armenia remains within the high economic growth range, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported Friday on his Facebook page.

YEREVAN, September 27. /ARKA/. Armenia's economic activity index rose 7.6% in August 2019, compared with the same month a year earlier, and this means that Armenia remains within the high economic growth range, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported Friday on his Facebook page.
He presented some annual indicators as of August, according to which growth of industry was recorded at 9.5%, that of construction 4.4%, trade turnover 9%, services 15.5% and exports 4.6%. An average monthly salary rose 5.7%.
The premier also added that there was no inflation in August, and even deflation was recorded. "These are quite good indicators, and I want to call on everybody to work better," Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.
According o official statistical reports, consumer prices in Armenia rose 0.6% in August 2019, compared with August 2018 (12-month inflation), and in August, compared with July, a 0.4% deflation was recorded.
In the government budget for 2019, economic growth is projected at 4.9% and inflation at 2.9%. --0--
