Armenia’s cargo transportation in the first quarter of 2016 surged by 62.9% from the year earlier to 3, 164,900 tons, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. Armenia’s cargo transportation in the first quarter of 2016 surged by 62.9% from the year earlier to 3, 164,900 tons, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
Road transport accounted for 66.1% of the total cargo transportation or 2,091,500 tons. Railway transport accounted for 19% or 603,300 tons. About 14.8% or 467,400 were transported by pipeline transportation and 0.1% or about 2,700 tons – by air transport.
According to statistical data, the turnover of goods in the reporting period amounted to 1.017.4 billion ton-km, a decrease of 3.9% compared to January-March 2015. ($ 1 - 478.74 drams). -0
