Armenia’s construction sector posted 4.9% growth in the first two months of 2022 to over 32.7 billion (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee said.

YEREVAN, April 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s construction sector posted 4.9% growth in the first two months of 2022 to over 32.7 billion (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee said.

According to NSC, some 5 billion worth construction or 15.4% of the total was financed by the government. This figure represents a 65.4% drop from the first two months of 2021.

Also, 445.6 million worth construction was financed by the communities. It made 1.4% of the total. The drop as opposed to the first two months of 2021 amounted to 36.3%.

Some 219.1 million drams worth construction was financed by humanitarian aid (0.7% of the total and 13% rise.)

Also, about 19 billion drams worth construction was financed by organizations (57.5% of the total and 43.6% growth from January-February 2021). Some 8.2 billion drams worth construction was financed by individuals- 25% of the total and 1.4% decrease.

About 1.9 billion drams worth construction was financed by loans provided by international financial organizations, a 53.5% decrease.

The World Bank’s loans accounted for 162.8 million drams worth construction, those of the Asian Development Bank – for 322 million drams, the German Development Bank (KfW) provided 107 million drams for this purpose and another 1.2 billion drams came from other sources. ($1 - 481.59 drams). -0-
