Armenia's draft 2024 budget calls for 2.67 trillion drams in revenue and 3.1 trillion drams in spending

YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. Armenian government’s draft budget designed for 2024 calls for 2.676 trillion drams in revenue and 3.108 trillion drams in spending, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday speaking at a parliamentary discussion on the budget.
He said compared to 2018, budget revenues are to soar by about 1.367 trillion drams or by 105%, and compared to 2023, by 13.1%.
As for the spending, Pashinyan said that allocations for a number of key areas will significantly increase.
In particular, compared to 2023 figures, the expenditures for social security in 2024 are to increase by about 15.5% to 755.3 billion drams, for health care - by about 14.5% to 170.7 billion drams, for education - by 38% to 291.9 billion drams.
According to Pashinyan, the spending on defense, police and judicial system will also rise by 7.8% to the overall 777.8 billion drams. ($1 - AMD 402.26). --0—
