Armenia's economic activity up 11.3% in February - Pashinyan

Armenia's economic activity was up 11.3% in February 2023 as opposed to the same month a year ago, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. Armenia's economic activity was up 11.3% in February 2023 as opposed to the same month a year ago, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

"Foreign trade surged by 79.5%, with exports more than doubling and imports growing by 163%, Pashinyan said citing the latest numbers, released by the National Statistical Committee. He also reminded that the construction sector continues to grow at a very high rate of 13.9% and services grew by 11%.

He informed that industrial output grew by 0.7% as compared to February last year and by 1% as compared to January.

Pashinyan said the task of both the government and the private sector is to maintain the current pace.

According to the National Statistical Committee, Armenia's economic activity recorded 10.9% growth in the first two months of 2023 compared to the same time span of 2022.

The economic activity in February was up 6.5% as opposed to the previous month, while compared to February 2022 it was up 11.3%. -0-
