YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Economic growth in Armenia in 2023 exceeded 8%, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a press conference today.

"Armenia has registered an economic growth of 8.7%. To be precise, I will note that there are certain discussions between the Ministry of Finance and the National Statistical Committee regarding the exact growth figure, but it is certain that the economic growth exceeds 8%. In time the exact figure will be determined or will remain the same," he said.

Noting that the government's program for 2021-2026 earmarks an average economic growth of 7% as a key goal, the prime minister recalled that the country recorded an economic growth of 12.6% in 2022 and 5.8% in 2021.

According to Pashinyan, economic development will allow serving the state agenda, in general. In this regard, he noted that in 2023, tax revenues amounted to a record AMD 2.2 trillion, a 92% surge compared to 2017. ($1 - AMD 403.58) -0-
