Armenia’s economy grew by 5.2% in 2018, according to preliminary figures, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s economy grew by 5.2% in 2018, according to preliminary figures, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC). The country’s GDP amounted to 6.002.7 trillion drams or about $12.4 billion.

NSC said in the first quarter GDP grew by 9.9%, by 7.4% in the second quarter, by 2.5% in the third quarter and by 4.4% in the fourth quarter. 

The economic growth in 2018 was driven by growth in trade and services (9.6%), in industry, including energy production (4.1%), and also in construction (1.6%). The agriculture saw a 8.5% decline.

Per capita GDP in 2018 was 2,021, 808 drams ($4,186). The government projected GDP growth for last year was 4.5%. -0-
