Armenia’s export of medicaments has grown 25-25% over last year, Sergey Khacahtryan, deputy healthcare minister, said Wednesday in the National Assembly.

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s export of medicaments has grown 25-25% over last year, Sergey Khacahtryan, deputy healthcare minister, said Wednesday in the National Assembly.
In his words, Armenia has 18 registered drug-producers now, of which three have certificates for exporting their products.
Khachatryan said that domestic drug industry covers only 4% of the local market, while the remaining volume is ensured by imports.
«Despite that, Armenian producers are intensively exporting their products building up exports by 18% every year, and in 2015, this indicator rose by 25%, and we connect this with accession of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union,» he said though refraining form pointing any particular figure.
The deputy minister said that Armenian drug producers have opportunities to export their products not only to the Eurasia Economic Union's space, but also to the Middle East and the European Union markets.
In his opinion, Armenia's export opportunities, the laws corresponding to the European legislation and preferences for products exported to the Eurasian Economic Union member countries makes Armenia quite attractive for potential investors in this area. --0----
