Armenia's first quarter foreign trade down by 4 percent

In the first three months of 2020 Armenia's foreign trade turnover dropped by 4% from the same time span of 2019 to about $1.565.1 billion, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. In the first three months of 2020 Armenia's foreign trade turnover dropped by 4% from the same time span of 2019 to about $1.565.1 billion, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
It said in March 2020, when compared to February 2020, the foreign trade turnover was down by 7.9%, and compared to March 2019, it was down by 16%. In Armenian dram equivalent the first quarter foreign trade stood at 753.9 billion drams.
Armenian exports in January-March 2020 grew by 0.2% compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to $544.9 million.
In March 2020, compared to February 2020, they decreased by 13.3%, and compared to March 2019 they were down by 17.4%. In January-March, the exports in Armenian dram equivalent amounted to 262.4 billion drams.
First quarter imports amounted to $1.020.2 billion, a decrease of 6.2% when compared to h January-March 2019. In March 2020, compared to February 2020, imports decreased by 4.9%, and compared to March 2019 - they decreased by 15.3%. In AMD equivalent, imports in January-March 2020 amounted to 491.5 billion drams. ($1 - 479.67 dram). --0--
