Armenia’s foreign trade turnover dropped by 28.5% in January-March 2015, compared with the same period a year before, and amounted to $945.1 million, the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia reports.

YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover dropped by 28.5% in January-March 2015, compared with the same period a year before, and amounted to $945.1 million, the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia reports.
The NSS says the reports are incomplete due to need for adjustments in EEU trade indicators.
According to the statistical report, exports totaled about $267.6 million (23.1% year-on-year decrease) in January-March, 2015; imports were $677.5 million (30.5% year-on-year reduction). As a result, negative balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to $409.9 million.
According to the preliminary information, negative balance in FOB prices amounted to $305.6 million in January-March 2015.
Armenia’s foreign trade turnover with CIS member states amounted to a total of about 227 million in the reporting period (share at 24%, and decline rate at 40.6%). Trade with Russia alone amounted to $190.3 million (41.2% reduction), that with Ukraine was $28.5 million (30.9% decline), and with Belarus about $1,205,300 (84.3% decline).
Trade with the EU countries totaled about $258.8 million in January-March, 2015 (share at 27.4%, and reduction of 31.7%); trade with other countries amounted to $459.3 million (48.6% and 18.2% respectively).
According to the statistics, most weighty export items in the period were: mining about $91.1 million (2% decline), non-precious metals about $63.3 million (12.4% decline) and finished food products about $41.4 million (43.5% decline).
At the same time, imports prevailed under “mining” (about $192.8mln, 12.9% decline), “machinery, equipment” ($76.8mln, 31.5% decline), non-precious metals ($54.1mln, 9.6% decline). –0--
