Armenia’s government simplifies customs procedure of goods classification
YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government amended a number of its earlier decisions at its meeting on Thursday, to simplify the customs procedure for goods classification. The changes are made to improve the business environment and settle disputes between the customs and importers, deputy minister of finance Armen Alaverdyan said in presenting the issue. According to the amendments, if a dispute occurs between the customs bodies and importers about goods codes, it will not affect the customs clearance, but will be settled afterwards - through provision of banking or insurance guarantees and additional information about the goods, Alaverdyan said. The premier Hovik Abrahamyan said the amendments are an important step on the way to better customs formalities and business environment. They enable importers, if there is a guarantor, importing goods, selling them and then providing clarification on disputed issues, he said. –0--
