Armenia's industrial output in January 2024 up 21% to about 206.3 billion drams

YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's industrial output in January 2024 amounted to about 206.3 billion drams in current prices, up 21% compared to January 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
The mining sector accounted for about 36 billion drams, down 10.1% from January 2023. The processing industry’s output grew by 38.5% yoy to over 132.8 billion drams.
Electricity, natural gas, steam and purified air supplies amounted to over 35.1 billion drams, 8.1% growth against January 2023, while water supply, sewerage, waste management and recycling grew by 7% to about 2.4 billion drams.
The processing industry accounted for 64.43% of the total output. The mining sector’s share was about 17.4%, that of electricity, natural gas, steam and purified air was 17% and that of water supply, sewerage, waste management and recycling – 1.2%. ($1 - 404.03 drams). -0-
