Armenia’s inflation rate second highest in CIS in April

Armenia’s 2.1% inflation rate in April 2012 was the second highest among former Soviet republics united in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States reported on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, June 13. /АРКА/. Armenia’s 2.1% inflation rate in April 2012 was the second highest among former Soviet republics united in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States reported on Wednesday. 

According to the statistical report, consumer prices in Armenia went 0.6% down in April, compared with March. 

All the CIS member countries faced inflation in April, compared with December 2011. 

The average inflation rate in the Commonwealth stood at 1.7% in April.

Belarus, Tajikistan, Russia and Kazakhstan faced the highest price rise in April – 6.8%, 1.9%, 1.8% and 1.7% respectively. 

Prices in Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan rose 1.2%, 0.6%, 0.7% and 0.1% respectively.
