Armenia’s money supply in August was down 1 percent from July

Armenia’s money supply decreased by 1% at the end of August 2016 from July to about 1.980. 8 trillion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said, citing the preliminary data of the Central Bank.

YEREVAN, October 5. / ARKA /. Armenia’s money supply decreased by 1% at the end of August 2016 from July to about 1.980. 8 trillion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said, citing the preliminary data of the Central Bank.
According to official data, cash outside the banking system at the end of August stood at about 351.4 billion drams, up from nearly 348.2 billion drams at the end of July. Demand deposits (in Armenian drams) totaled 217.3 billion drams against 221.3 billion drams in late July.
Time deposits in drams stood at approximately 379.3 billion drams, down from 382.6 billion drams at the end of July. Deposits in foreign currency were worth the equivalent of 1.032.3 trillion drams against 1.048.9 trillion drams at the end of July.
At the same time, the money multiplier at the end of July was 2.35, down 0.4 percentage point from July. ($ 1- 474.36 drams). -0-
