Armenia's tax system is attractive for investors - Head of Freedom Holding Co.

YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Armenia's tax system is certainly favorable and attractive for investors, believes founder and head of Freedom Holding Corp. Timur Turlov.

"It (taxation system) can often get in the way, when, for example, interest on deposits is not taxed, while securities are taxed. In Armenia, on the contrary, thank God, it rather helps," Turlov said speaking today at the first investment and financial forum in Yerevan organized by Freedom Broker.

In his opinion, it is probably done with the expectation of developing the settlement and clearing infrastructure, so that state securities and corporate papers could be easily stored in Euroclear, so that foreign investors could buy them.

At the same time, Turlov noted that "bright" bond placements of Armenian companies can attract even private foreign investors.

"If we participate in the placement of a large Armenian company, we will gladly offer their shares to our more than 300,000 Kazakh clients," the entrepreneur said.  

At the same time, Turlov noted that investors are ready to invest in countries where there is a war. The main thing is that investors should see growth prospects.
