YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia has approved today the signing of an agreement with Singapore to exclude double taxation.

Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan said the agreement will create preconditions for boosting and expanding the geography of Armenian exports.

"The agreement is aimed at  promoting trade and economic cooperation, information exchange between tax and customs structures, as well as reducing the risks of tax evasion and creates also opportunities for export development and investment attraction," said Janjughazyan.

According to him, the negotiations with Singapore began in 2016, but ended only a couple of days ago. The minister also said that Armenia has a similar agreement with 46 countries, and 15 more agreements are at different stages of discussions.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted that the agreement is to be signed later this week during the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Singapore.

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stressed that this agreement is important and practically reflects the government’s goals in the South East Asian region that has huge trade and economic potential.-0-
