Armenia to feel advantages of being in EEU soon – Kazakhstani expert

Armenia will feel the advantages of its Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) membership in the near future, deputy director of Public Policies Institute of the ruling Nur Otan Kazakhstani party historian Serik Kozhkenov said at the conference on Armenia’s Eurasian prospects for in Yerevan on Thursday.

YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. Armenia will feel the advantages of its Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) membership in the near future, deputy director of Public Policies Institute of the ruling Nur Otan Kazakhstani party historian Serik Kozhkenov said at the conference on Armenia’s Eurasian prospects for in Yerevan on Thursday. The conference was held by the international affairs department of the Yerevan State University and “Integration and development” NGO. The new union coming into effect as from January 2015 is a very important event not only for the four member-countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia), but for the entire post-Soviet area as well, Kozhkenov said. According to the expert, the EEU will gain momentum rapidly, and business community, civil society, political parties and, the most important, ordinary people will feel the advantages of the Eurasian integration both in terms of business and inter-state relations. “I believe Armenia’s prospects within the EEU are very good”, he said. On October 10, 2015, Armenia officially joined the EEU treaty that comes into effect as from January 1, 2015. –0--
