Armenian Deputy Ministers of Economy Discuss Cooperation with EU Council’s COEST Working Party

Armenian Deputy Ministers of Economy Aram Khachatryan, Tigran Gasparyan, and Levon Movsisyan met with members of the Council of the European Union’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported on its official Telegram channel.
YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Ministers of Economy Aram Khachatryan, Tigran Gasparyan, and Levon Movsisyan met with members of the Council of the European Union’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported on its official Telegram channel.
The meeting focused on deepening Armenia-EU relations, Armenia’s European integration, ongoing reforms and EU programs in the country, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation.
The EU Council’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST) is responsible for preparing and coordinating EU positions regarding relations with Eastern European and Central Asian states, including Armenia.
Armenia-EU Cooperation
Relations between Armenia and the European Union are based on the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed on November 24, 2017, and entered into force on March 1, 2021.
The document establishes a framework for cooperation in political and economic spheres, covering areas such as reforms, trade, investment, sectoral cooperation, environmental protection, education, and research.
CEPA provides for an institutional dialogue structure between Armenia and the EU, comprising the Armenia-EU Partnership Council, the Partnership Committee, and specialized sub-committees covering various areas of cooperation.
The EU also implements support programs in Armenia focused on reforms, economic development, private sector growth, and other areas of cooperation.
