Armenian President and New Chinese Ambassador Discuss Economic Cooperation

YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Armenia, Li Xinwei, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan on Friday.
During their meeting, they explored the potential for enhanced economic collaboration between Armenia and China, recognizing the importance of taking steps to bring this vision to fruition.
They both highlighted the significance of ongoing and effective interaction at various levels to establish a firm foundation for strengthening bilateral relations, as reported by the President’s press service.
The President and the Ambassador both acknowledged the establishment of direct air service between Armenia and China as a significant move that will enhance political, economic, cultural, and tourism ties.
“Armenia is among China’s key partners. I am committed to doing everything I can to further broaden our cooperation,” the Ambassador stated.
President Khachaturyan remarked that Armenian-Chinese relations hold a pivotal position in Yerevan’s foreign policy.
“Our long-standing friendship compels us to further develop and expand our centuries-old cooperative traditions and to create new avenues for mutual recognition, cooperation, and friendship between our nations and peoples,” he added.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining high-level contacts and an active political dialogue as crucial elements in fortifying bilateral relations. Special emphasis was placed on developing parliamentary diplomacy as a new avenue for dialogue aimed at expanding cooperation across various sectors.-0-
