YEREVAN, February 21. /ARКА/. The chairman of Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) Eduard Hakobyan received Thursday representatives of the regional and national coordination groups of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Hakobyan emphasized the decisive role of the EBRD's support in the modernization of Armenia's customs infrastructure, SRC's press service reported.
The parties were said to discuss a set of projects currently being implemented with the support of the EBRD, isuch as the reconstruction and modernization of the Agarak customs checkpoint, as well as the construction of foreign trade service centers in Sisian and Yerevan.
The program for the modernization of border crossing point infrastructure, launched jointly with the EBRD, was also discussed.
The parties expressed their readiness to implement the agreements reached and ensure the continuity of the cooperation.
Earlier it was reported that the EBRD would provide Armenia with 12 million euros (loan plus grant) for the construction of a customs and logistics center in Syunik and a similar facility in Yerevan for 45 million euros.
The EBRD will allocate another 23.5 million euros for the reconstruction and modernization of the Agarak checkpoint on the Armenian-Iranian border.
