YEREVAN, April 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received on Wednesday the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Badakhshan Zokhuri, the press service of the Armenian government reported.

It said welcoming the ambassador, Grigoryan highly appreciated the relations with friendly Iran and cooperation in various fields, stressing that the countries have a large agenda of bilateral relations.

The Iranian ambassador noted that Armenia is a friendly, brotherly country for Iran. The interlocutors discussed possible directions for the development of bilateral relations, in particular, in the fields of energy, transport and economy.

During the discussion, they also exchanged views on expanding cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) , as well as on the prospects for Iran to enter the EEU market through Armenia.

The sides stressed the great potential for the development of bilateral relations and the need for joint efforts in this direction.

They discussed also the possibilities of intensifying contacts between the private sector of the two countries. Regional developments and the coronavirus vaccination process were also discussed. -0-
