Armenian customs officers prevent an attempt to smuggle over 58 thousand packs of cigarettes from Iran
YEREVAN, September 20 /ARKA/. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has stopped an attempt to import more than 58 thousand packs of cigarettes bypassing customs control, reports the press service of the agency.
Recently, a truck with iodized salt arrived in Armenia from Iran. As a result of X-ray scanning, suspicions arose that the bags of salt may contain goods hidden from customs control.
During the customs inspection conducted at the Agarak checkpoint, 58,750 packs of cigarettes of various brands hidden from customs control were discovered.
A protocol on violation of customs regulations has been drawn up on this fact, and an investigation is underway. -0-
