Armenian deputy prime minister and World Bank vice president discuss bilateral cooperation

Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan had a meeting today with a World Bank team led by its Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller, the Armenian government press office said.
YEREVAN, March 14. /ARKA/. Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan had a meeting today with a World Bank team led by its Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller, the Armenian government press office said.
It quoted Mher Grigoryan as saying that the Country’s Partnership Framework strategic document that defines the cooperation priorities between Armenia and WB for the next four years which is being prepared currently by the World Bank is in line with the main provisions of Armenian government’s program.
Cyril Muller was said to have praised the readiness and desire of the Armenian government to implement reforms.
Grigoryan spoke also about those government reforms which are aimed at the development of the country. As a priority, he highlighted formation of a competitive economy, protection of human rights and capital, and the fight against corruption.
According to Mher Grigoryan, Armenia possesses significant potential for economic development that can be realized. He stressed the importance of implementing programs for the development of infrastructure and human capital, as well as the need to create a platform for the formation of a capital market and the implementation of innovative ideas in the field of high technologies.
In the context of the fight against corruption, the sides underscored the elimination of not only its consequences, but also the causes. Mher Grigoryan Cyril Muller exchanged also views on the steps that need to be taken to improve the efficiency of public administration. -0-
