Armenian employers will be obliged to pay state duties for hiring foreign nationals
YEREVAN, May 18. / ARKA /. Armenia’s National Assembly has adopted today in the first reading a set of amendments to the law on state duty obliging employers to pay state duty for hiring foreign nationals.

According to the amendments, to obtain a permit an employer will have to pay a duty  25 times the size of basic fee (25,00 drams or about 52 US dollars at the current exchange rate).

The bill was developed based on similar rates  effective in  other member states of the  Eurasian Economic Union. In particular, in Balarus this amount is 700 thousand Belarusian rubles, while in  Russia it is 3,500 rubles for citizens of states with visa-free regime with Russia.

Under the amendments, employers who have recruited already foreigners without work permits, will have within 60 days after the entry into force of the amendments,  to send copies of employment contracts  to the authorized body for the registration.

After the contract is terminated, employers will be able to sign  new employment contracts according to the new law.-0-
